Ko Samet

  • Ko Samet is an Island comprising one of 9 in the archipelago of Samet. The archipelago is 7 kilometers off the coast of Rayong south of Pattaya. All but the Na Dan area is a National Park called  Khao Laem Ya Mu Ko Samet National Park.
  • Access to the Island and resort area is throught the local port of Ban Phe [ or Ko Samet Village ] which requires a half hour boat trip from the Rayong coast. From here it is 3.5 hours by vehicle to Central Bangkok. Ko Samet is approximately 13 square kilometers in size and its longest beach is 11 kilometers long. The major beaches are on the Islands east side which is also more protected. There are three small Islands off the southern end of Ko Samet. These are Ko San Chalam, Ko Jan and Ko Hin Khao. They are small rock islands.
  • The reefs here are a favored diving location in Thailand. Most importantly for tourists wanting peace and nature, there is no night life of the style of Pattaya and Phuket. This is peaceful isolation on a beautiful Island. A place to rest and enjoy the natural landscapes and the sea.
  • The rainy season on Ko Samet is May to July inclusive.
