- This Museum displays mostly objects collected from the excavations of ancient ruins at the old sites of Sukhothai and the neighbouring towns of Si Satchanalai and Kamphaeng Phet, Petchabun and Phichit.
- The objects displayed include inscription stones of the Sukhothai period, Sangkhalok crockery, Buddha images of various styles, moulded Buddha images, idols and ancient weapons.
- The art objects are displayed in such a way that the visitor can understand not only where they were found, but the relevance they have to each other, from which sources they were influenced and which beliefs they are aligned with.
The displays are divided into the following groups:
- Moulded plaster sculptures and moulded earthern and lead images of Buddha from the Phra Phai Luang Temple and Mahadhatu Temple
- A group of pre-Sukhothai art sculptures from the Lop Buri period circa 13th century
- Sukhothai art from the 14th to 15th centuries, considered the most beautiful and unique of Thai art
- U-Thong art including both moulded and bronze sculptures of Buddha from the early part of the 15th century
- Ayutthaya art of 15th to 18th centuries, where the images of Buddha have a strong Sukhothai influence, but the difference being the addition of a dress
- Chinaware from the Yuan, Meng and Ching dynasties of China, excavated from the old town of Sukhothai

Sangkhalok crockery both enamelled and non-enamelled, found in
Sukhothai province, from “Thuriang” furnaces located outside the old
town of Sukhothai and Si Satchanalai.
- The Lai Sue Thai Memorial Building is an adjunct to the Museum and has displays of various aspects of Sukhothai previous to the establishment of the Kingdom of Sukhothai and up to the development of the Town of Sukhothai.
