- Hua Hin is located on a 5 kilometer long beach front of white sand on the South West Coast of the Gulf of Siam about 280 kilometers south from Bangkok. It is the original beach resort in Thailand having first become so for the elite of Bangkok with the extension of the railway system in the reign of Rama V to what was then a quiet retreat. Hua Hin's status took further credence when the Royal family constructed a Summer Palace and transformed the area into a resort area for Royalty. Here also was constructed Thailand's first standard golf course.
- Hua Hin is the social capital for the whole coastal region of Prachuap Khiri Khan Province. Hua Hin is a town on a coast, as such it is a tourist and retirement center for Thai and European people. One should really consider this whole coastal region as from Cha Am to its north all the way south, there are many beaches and other places to see and reside.
