  • Wat Sorasak is located northeast of Ta Pha Daeng Shrine and was built approximately in 1417.
  • The stupa is the main attraction and consists of a bell shaped monument covered with stucco and mounted on a 19 meter square brick base which itself is decorated with 24 elephant sculptures made of bricks with stucco which serve as the motives typical of the Sri Lankan style introduced to Sukhothai at this time.
  • Evidence as to the history of Wat Sorasak was engraved on stone . This Inscription is numbered No 49 and is on display in the Ramkhamhaeng National Museum.
  • Wat Sorasak was restored in the 1980's so some parts of the stucco have been replaced.
  • Similar elephant styled Sri Lankan temples can be seen elsewhere in Sukhothai, Khamphaeng Phet and Si Satchanalai.
