Laem Son National Park Ranong Province

  • Laem Son National Park comprises 315 square kilometers land sea and islands in Mueang, Kapoe and Suk Samran Districts of Ranong Province and Khura Buri District of Phang Nga Province on the Andaman Sea coastline of South Thailand.
  • Approximately 85.25% of the National Park is marine. The park includes 60 kilometers of coast line, two archipelagos and 8 other islands. The highest elevation is Khao (Mount) Kham Yai.
  • The vegetation is mainly Tropical Rain Forest especially on Khao Bang Ben, and the inner areas of islands such as, Ko Piaknam Yai, Ko Piaknam Noi, Ko Lan, Ko Thao, Ko Kam Yai, Ko Kam Nui, Ko Khao Yai and Ko Khang Khao. Mangrove Forest and Coral Reef ecosystems are also there.
  • Laem Son National Park has some 30 kinds of mammals living in the conservation areas. These include, Pangolin, Treeshrew, Crab-eating Macaque, Lesser Mouse Deer, Black Giant Squirrel, Langur, Wild Boar, Yellow Rajah Rat, Bush Tailed Porcupine, Munjak and Pig-tailed Macaque.
