Doi Phahom Pok National Park Chiang Mai

  • Doi Phahom Pok National Park comprises 524 square kilometers and covers mountain terrain in Fang, Mae Ai and Chai Prakan in Chiang Mai Province. It is north west of Chiang Mai City and west of Fang town on the route to Chiang Rai from Chiang Mai. It also adjoins the Myanmar border.
  • The geography of the park is rugged mountains in the Phi Pan Nam Mountain Range running north to south with the highest elevation being 2,285 meters at Mount (Doi) Phahom Pok. The mountains range between 400 to 2,285 meters above sea level.
  • The vegetation ecosystems are Mixed Deciduous Forest, Deciduous Dipterocarp Forest, Evergreen Forest and Pine Forest. In the lower levels are bamboo, palms and ferns.
  • The animal species to be seen here include, Sambar Deer, Asian Bear, Wild Boar and Common Muntjack.
