Banteay Kdei Angkor

  • Prasat Banteay Kdei is a Buddhist Temple monastry complex built in the reign of Jayavarman VII [ between late 13th C and the early 14thC ]. The cpomplex is made of sandstone and the design is of the Bayon style. The complex is similar to Ta Prohm and Preah Khan but less significant and some what dilapidated.
  • Banteay Kdei is immediately west of Srah Srang and both can be visited at the same time with the one care stop being parked between the two locations.
  • The monuments are contained within two concentric galleries and enclosure walls. The image below is the external enclosure wall and east gate.
